A wide variety of events were held for the purpose of stimulating interfaith understanding and religious harmony, including a well-attended gathering at a United Church on Canada’s east coast and a conference on a university campus on the west coast.

Montreal, Quebec, 10 September 2007 (CBNS) — At a joyous gathering of more than 50 invited guests, the National Spiritual Assembly of Canada re-opened the Bahá’í Shrine in Montreal on Saturday, September 8, 2007. Sacred to the Bahá’ís because of its association with the visit to Montreal in 1912 of the Head of the Faith, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the home has recently been restored to its original condition. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá referred to the home as his “second home” and Shoghi Effendi, the Head of the Bahá’í Faith following ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s passing in 1921, named the home a Bahá’í Shrine in Canada.

Choir dedicated to Bahá’í music to perform on Parliament Hill

The Abha Voices will perform on Parliament Hill on Canada Day weekend.Winnipeg, Manitoba, 13 June 2007 (CBNS) — A choir from Winnipeg, Manitoba, that draws its lyrics from the writings of the Bahá’í Faith has been selected to perform in the official Canada Day program on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
